Join a Team

Participants can join or form a team with friends, classmates, or organizations. Teams work together to fundraise and take turns walking the track throughout the event.

Fundraise

Fundraising is at the heart of Relay For Life. Participants raise funds leading up to the event through personal outreach, creative initiatives, and team efforts, all in support of cancer research and support programs.

Executives

The Executive team leads the vision and operations of the McGill Students’ Cancer Society. Executives oversee committees, coordinate large-scale initiatives, and work closely with partners to ensure the success and sustainability of MSCS and Relay For Life. This role requires a strong commitment and offers meaningful leadership experience, responsibility, and the opportunity to shape the direction of the organization.

Executive Descriptions

Sponsorship Director

Oversees sponsor relationships and secures food, prizes, and external funding to support Relay For Life. Manages sponsor logistics, documentation, and recognition while leading the sponsorship portfolio.

PR & Communications Director

Manages MSCS’s public presence through social media, promotional materials, and campus outreach. Oversees content creation, sponsor visibility, and cancer awareness initiatives.

Entertainment & Logistics Director

Coordinates venues, performers, equipment, and event logistics for Relay For Life. Maintains schedules and works with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth event execution.

Finance & Fundraising Director

Manages budgets, banking, reimbursements, and financial records while leading fundraising initiatives. Ensures financial accountability and supports MSCS’s long-term sustainability.

Recruitment Director

Leads outreach to students, clubs, and external organizations to grow participation. Manages team captains, volunteers, and recruitment efforts for Relay For Life and MSCS events.

Participant Engagement Director

Maintains communication with members and participants through emails and website content. Ensures participants are informed, supported, and engaged throughout the year.

Survivors

Connects with cancer survivors, caregivers, and individuals currently battling cancer to invite and support their participation in Relay For Life. This role ensures that survivor stories and lived experiences are centered throughout the event, creating a space of recognition, support, and community.
