What is Relay for Life?

Relay For Life is a fundraising event that brings communities together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand in solidarity with those currently affected by cancer. Through team-based fundraising, ceremonies, and shared moments of reflection and hope, Relay For Life supports cancer research, patient services, and advocacy efforts across Canada.

How to Participate

Join a Team

Participants can join or form a team with friends, classmates, or organizations. Teams work together to fundraise and take turns walking the track throughout the event.

Fundraise

Fundraising is at the heart of Relay For Life. Participants raise funds leading up to the event through personal outreach, creative initiatives, and team efforts, all in support of cancer research and support programs.

Volunteer

Volunteers play a crucial role in making Relay For Life possible. From event setup to ceremony support, volunteers help create a smooth, welcoming, and impactful experience for all attendees.

Survivors & Caregivers

Relay For Life is, above all, a celebration of survivors and a recognition of caregivers. Survivors and caregivers are our guests of honour and are invited to participate in dedicated moments throughout the event, including the Survivor’s Lap and recognition ceremonies. Whether you are currently facing cancer, supporting a loved one, or celebrating life after treatment, Relay For Life is a space to feel supported, seen, and surrounded by community.
